Education Ministry Launches Job Fair Connecting Students With Employers

The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation and the Department of Employment jointly supported Bangkok Thonburi University in hosting the "MHESI JOB CONNECT @ BTU 2026" event on September 16, 2026, to connect education with the workplace. Deputy Permanent Secretary Pantip Arunanee opened the event, which provided students with opportunities to meet and apply to work with more than 65 leading companies and entrepreneurs spanning multiple industries including CPF Group, CP All, Makro, TRUE, Central Retail, and many other major organizations. The event was attended by Deputy Director-General Seksit Sawanyathipat of the Department of Employment, Bangkok Thonburi University President Professor Bangon Banjathikul, and various executives, students, and private sector partners at the university's Bangkokthonburi Hall.

Deputy Permanent Secretary Pantip stated that the ministry aims to elevate education to match industry needs through experiential learning, cooperative education, and work-integrated learning so students gain practical skills aligned with the labor market. He described this initiative as a key mechanism connecting higher education institutions with the private sector, enabling students to earn income while studying and transition smoothly into employment after graduation, ultimately producing skilled workers to drive sustainable economic and social development.

"The key goal is creating equal opportunities for students to earn income, gain experience, and be job-ready through integrated cooperation between universities, loan institutions, the Department of Employment, and the private sector, which will provide systematic student support," the deputy permanent secretary said, adding that evaluation should inform expansion to other institutions to build quality human resources with knowledge, skills, and experience ready for stable careers.

University President Professor Bangon noted the event aims to help students facing financial constraints who cannot access government education loans to work while studying, earn income to ease family burdens, and gain practical experience and skills valuable for future careers. The initiative partnered with more than 65 leading employers offering opportunities for students to balance studies and work effectively while developing capabilities and securing educational and career stability.

The "MHESI JOB CONNECT @ BTU 2026" event was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation in collaboration with Bangkok Thonburi University, the Department of Employment, and the Education Loan Fund. It aimed to connect students with employers, enabling direct meetings and information exchange with business owners, awareness of labor market needs, and access to part-time work, semester break jobs, internships, cooperative education, and permanent job applications for graduating students. This allows students to plan and choose career paths matching their knowledge, abilities, interests, and academic context, preparing them for appropriate entry into the labor market and employment.
