Krungsri Auto announced the partnership with Omnidrive to become the first provider of used EV inspections in Thailand, under its Resilient Growth strategy to create the nation's most complete used electric vehicle ecosystem. The collaboration focuses on developing a standard inspection process that evaluates batteries, electric systems, and vehicle structure to strengthen the ecosystem and reinforce Krungsri Auto's commitment to go beyond auto finance by providing accurate valuation data and loan assessments. Chayanthip Phanmanee noted that assessing used EVs requires specialized expertise different from conventional combustion-engine vehicles to accurately reflect their true condition, enabling more precise valuation and loan decisions while building confidence among partners, dealers, and customers. Hathairat T. Wattanapon, CEO of Omnidrive (Thailand) Co., Ltd., said the company is pleased to support the growth of Thailand's used EV market, which shows continuous potential. As the technical and data partner, Omnidrive will help Krungsri Auto's dealer partners overcome the technical complexities of EV appraisal by applying its expertise in electric vehicles and batteries, neutrality, and standardized evaluation, supported by specialist personnel to produce reliable, internationally comparable data that accurately reflects vehicle condition. Omnidrive's team, led by Associate Professor Dr. Chana YianggomSingh, operating officer with over 30 years of experience in automotive and EV engineering and an academic advisor to the Thai Electric Vehicle Association (EVAT), conducts inspections covering more than 200 items including high-voltage batteries, electrical systems, and safety structures, producing standardized reports rated from one to five stars. The partnership combines Krungsri Auto's market expertise in automotive financing with Omnidrive's technical know-how and inspection standards to lay a data foundation and build trust for Thailand's used EV market, thereby supporting the quality growth of the second-hand EV sector and the country's transition to an electric mobility society.
