Lawyer Files Complaint Against MP Over Undeclared Rolex Watch
Lawyer Noraset Nahnongtum has filed a complaint with Thailand's National Anti-Corruption Commission accusing Bhumjaithai MP Suchada Sang Than Sap of failing to declare a luxury Rolex Cosmograph Daytona watch she has been seen wearing during her election campaign. He says the watch, worth about three million baht, appears in her social media posts but is absent from her asset declaration submitted earlier this year. Noraset is awaiting a parliamentary committee hearing before deciding whether to pursue the matter further with other agencies.
Lawyer Noraset Nahnongtum submitted a complaint to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) on October 5, 2026, asking for an investigation into the asset declaration of Suchada Sang Than Sap, a Bhumjaithai Party MP from Chaiyaphum. He said he discovered through her Facebook and Instagram posts that she has been wearing a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona watch valued at around three million baht during her election campaign and up to the present, yet the watch does not appear in her asset filing. Noraset noted that her earlier declaration on March 15, 2026 listed only a single Rolex watch without specifying the Daytona model, and he attached screenshots of her wearing the watch on January 20, January 30, and February 4, 6 and 9, 2026, including a photo with Digital Economy and Society Minister Chaiyan Chidchob. He argued that if the watch belongs to a friend or was borrowed, it should be declared as a debt under a Supreme Court Criminal Division ruling for political figures, and failure to do so could constitute a false asset declaration. Noraset said he would wait for the relevant parliamentary committee to summon her and her husband for clarification before taking further steps, but would refer the case to other agencies if irregularities are found. He also addressed claims that the watch might be counterfeit or purchased after the declaration, stressing the need to explain how she wore it during the campaign and to verify its authenticity, noting that wearing imitation logos could raise additional ethical concerns. Finally, he mentioned that allegations linking her husband to online gambling would likewise need to be pursued with the appropriate authority if proven true.
