Rubber Thieves Strip 400 Trees in Kalasin Farm
Thieves stole rubber from over 400 trees in a Kalasin plantation, taking about 200 kilograms worth roughly 10,000 baht. The 70-year-old victim reported the loss to police and urged farmers to increase security. Police are investigating, reviewing CCTV and asking rubber buyers to report suspicious activity.
On September 24, 2569 at about 06:00, farmer Amnart Phusomphong went to tap rubber as usual in his plantation north of Ban Nong Man Pla, Lam Nong Saen subdistrict. After tapping, he poured acid to coagulate the latex and left it in cups to collect. On September 26, 2569 around 07:00, he returned to harvest the coagulated rubber and found all the rubber cups empty; the rubber had been stolen from over 400 trees across more than four rai. He estimated the loss at about 200 kilograms, worth roughly 10,000 baht. He said he usually stays overnight to guard the plantation but was away due to personal errands, giving thieves the opportunity. He urged fellow farmers to increase vigilance and set up watches. Police from Nong Kung Si station have deployed investigators to gather evidence, examine footprints, tire marks, and CCTV footage, and have asked local rubber buying centers to watch for suspicious sellers. They provide a hotline (191) for tips.
