Floods Affect 26 Provinces and Bangkok, Over 1.2 Million Households
Flooding has affected 26 provinces and Bangkok, impacting over 1.2 million households as authorities work to drain water and provide assistance. Heavy rain combined with northern runoff has worsened the situation, with some areas reporting deaths and rising water levels. Relief efforts continue until conditions improve.
Twenty-six provinces and Bangkok remain flooded as the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation rushes to drain water from inundated areas and continues to assist victims until the situation eases. On October 5, 2026, Mr. Niratt Phongstitthaworn, Director-General of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, said that heavy to very heavy rain in many areas combined with runoff from the north adding to central floodwaters has caused flooding in 26 provinces: Lampang, Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Lopburi, Sing Buri, Chainat, Suphan Buri, Kanchanaburi, Ang Thong, Saraburi, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Samut Prakan, Pathum Thani, Nakhon Pathom, Ratchaburi, Samut Songkhram, Phetchaburi, Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Chachoengsao, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi, Buri Ram, Chaiyaphum, and Surin. This covers 140 districts, 1,154 subdistricts, and 8,325 villages, including Bangkok.
People affected total 1,270,151 households, 3,519,416 persons (data from the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Command Center at 06:00).
Northern region: Lampang Province – flooding in Thoen district, one subdistrict, one village, 15 households affected, water levels receding. Nakhon Sawan Province – flooding in 12 districts including Phayuha Khiri, Takli, Phaisali, Lat Yao, Banphot Phisai, Kao Liew, Mueang Nakhon Sawan, Chum Saeng, Tha Tako, Krong Phra, Chum Ta Bang, Nong Buа, totaling 88 subdistricts and 482 villages, 10,905 households affected, water levels receding.
Central region: Uthai Thani Province – flooding in eight districts: Nong Chang, Huai Kot, Sung Noen, Nong Kathang, Ban Rai, Lan Sak, Mueang Uthai Thani, Thap Than, totaling 56 subdistricts and 413 villages, 4,785 households affected, water levels receding. Lopburi Province – flooding in Ban Mi district, eight subdistricts, 33 villages, 1,177 households affected, water levels receding. Chainat Province – flooding in four districts: Mueang Chainat, Manorm, Wat Sing, Sappaya, totaling 26 subdistricts and 135 villages, 5,872 households affected, water levels steady. Sing Buri Province – flooding in three districts: Mueang Sing Buri, In Buri, Phrom Buri, totaling six subdistricts and 18 villages, 1,243 households affected, water levels rising. Suphan Buri Province – flooding in ten districts: Bang Pla Mah, Song Phi Nong, Don Chedi, Si Prachan, Mueang Suphan Buri, Sam Chuk, Doem Bang Nang Buat, Dan Chang, Nong Ya Sai, totaling 107 subdistricts and 933 villages, 28,453 households affected, water levels rising. Kanchanaburi Province – flooding in five districts: Dan Makham Tia, Tha Mueang, Tha Muang, Mueang Kanchanaburi, Sangkhla Buri, totaling 25 subdistricts and 258 villages, 1,073 households affected, two deaths reported, water levels receding. Ang Thong Province – flooding in five districts: Pa Mok, Chaiyo, Wiset Chai Chan, Mueang Ang Thong, Sam Ko, totaling 33 subdistricts and 129 villages, 1,938 households affected, water levels rising. Saraburi Province – flooding in seven districts: Mueang Saraburi, Nong Khaeng, Nong Saeng, Don Phut, Nong Don, Wihan Daeng, Ban Mo, totaling 32 subdistricts and 107 villages, 2,165 households affected, one death reported, water levels receding. Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province – flooding in sixteen districts: Sena, Bang Ban, Phak Hai, Bang Sai, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Bang Pa-in, Bang Pa-han, Lat Bua Luang, Uthai, Nakhon Luang, Wang Noi, Tha Rua, Phachi, Ban Prak, Bang Sai, Maharat, totaling 205 subdistricts and 1,346 villages, 53,831 households affected, one death reported, water levels rising. Samut Prakan Province – flooding in six districts: Mueang Samut Prakan, Bang Sao Thong, Bang Phli, Bang Bo, Phra Pradaeng, Phra Samut Chedi, totaling 38 subdistricts and 382 villages, (data continues).
