Luang Pho Huad's Gold Amulet Coin Draws Collector Interest
Luang Pho Huad Panyawutto, a revered monk from Suphan Buri, was known for his expertise in meditation, mystical sciences, and temple development. Born in 1911, he overcame early hardship to become abbot, district monk, and preceptor before his death in 1996. His gold commemorative coin, issued in 1993, remains a sought-after amulet among collectors and devotees.
Luang Pho Huad Panyawutto devoted his life to religious study and community service. After ordination, he helped restore Wat Maha Ying Khon, pursued traditional medicine and meditation training, and oversaw the construction of Wat Don Pho Thong in the early 1980s. He rose through the monastic ranks, receiving the title Phra Kru Prai Chawuthikun in 1957, and became a respected district monk and preceptor. Known for his simple lifestyle and clear speech, he passed away on August 15, 1996, at the age of 86. His amulets remain popular, especially the gold 'Maha Phok Sap' coin minted in 1993 to mark his 83rd birthday. The round coin resembles an old five-baht piece, featuring a saw-tooth rim, a full-body seated portrait of the monk on the obverse, and a recessed bodhi leaf with inscription on the reverse.
