Man Found Dead in Canal After Motorcycle Accident
A 53-year-old man was found dead in a canal near his motorcycle in Phrae Province after going missing on September 7, with police determining the death resulted from an accident with no signs of foul play.
At 8:25 a.m. on September 8, 2025, Subinspector Theerapong Ariylertchaiyakul of Den Chai Police Station received a report of a motorcycle in a canal with a fatality in Moo 2, Ban Dong Surata, Mae Chuea District, Den Chai, Phrae Province. He reported the incident to Police Captain Niwat Tatnakasem, the station commander, before proceeding to the scene with rescue workers from Den Chai Ruambuun Foundation and an on-duty doctor from Somdet Phra Yupracha Hospital.
At the scene, officers found the body of Chamruay, age 53, wearing a long-sleeved shirt and shorts, in the water canal near his motorcycle. The doctor estimated he had been dead for approximately one night and found no signs of wounds or indicators of assault. Neighbors reported that before the incident, the victim had traveled to a rice field in Moo 2. His wife stated he left home around 3–4 p.m. on September 7, intending to go to Baan Buk Po in Nam Cham District, Soong Muen. When she returned that evening, he was not home, and he never returned that night. Concerned, she sought help from relatives and neighbors to search for him. The body was found in the canal the next morning, and police were notified.
The doctor initially concluded that death resulted from a motorcycle accident in the canal with no signs of foul play. The family accepted the cause of death, and officers released the body to relatives for religious rites and merit-making ceremonies.
