Monks from Wat Som Gliang came to the front of Thepsirin School in Nonthaburi on the morning of August 8 to offer prayers and dedicate merit for the deceased victims of a school shooting. Reporters who visited the scene found the school atmosphere extremely quiet, with only security and maintenance personnel allowed inside. The school has strictly prohibited unauthorized entry following police orders to seal off the campus and buildings as an active crime scene for further investigation. The shooting incident, in which a juvenile gunman fired 98 rounds into the school, resulted in 8 deaths—including teachers and students—and 22 injured.
