At 10:30 PM on May 15, 2026, Deputy Sub-Lieutenant Wutinun Somsunun, an investigator at Pak Khlong Rangsit Police Station in Pathum Thani Province, received notification of a collision between a pickup truck and a motorcycle that resulted in injuries and a fatality. The incident occurred at the Bang Pun overpass near Soi Sukhkee 1 in Bang Pun Subdistrict, Mueang District, Pathum Thani. Emergency responders including rescue units from Krung Siam Saint Carlos Hospital and volunteer staff from the Po Tek Tung Foundation rushed to the scene.

At the location, they found the body of Chaiyaon (surname withheld), 53 years old, lying dead. He was a delivery motorcycle rider for Lotus Rangsit number 4. Nearby, they discovered an injured female passenger whom rescue personnel provided first aid before transporting to Krung Siam Saint Carlos Hospital, approximately 20 meters away. A blue-and-black Honda Wave motorcycle with yellow plate registration number KKJ-291 (Pathum Thani) was found with severe front-end damage. Nearby stood a bronze-colored Toyota pickup truck with registration number 5KT 1816 (Bangkok), also severely damaged on the front right side.

Upon questioning, 52-year-old Nanchaa, who appeared intoxicated, stated that he had been leaving a social event and was driving home normally. He claimed he did not see the motorcycle and was traveling from Highway 345 toward Rangsit when the accident occurred.

Police initially detained Nanchaa for alcohol breath testing and investigation into the cause of the accident. They are also reviewing CCTV footage from nearby cameras to determine the actual cause before proceeding further.
