MP Demands EC Explain Delays in Three Political Cases
A Phum Jai Thai MP accused the Election Commission of inconsistently investigating political cases, with three factions' cases stalled while another has been under review for two years.
During a parliamentary session at 4:30 p.m. on July 16, 2025, Supachai Iamsutat, a Phum Jai Thai party list MP, criticized the Election Commission for inconsistent handling of political cases. He noted that while a subcommittee has investigated the blue faction for two years, three other cases—involving independent groups, the I-Love faction, and the orange faction—remain unresolved since their inception.
Supachai argued that selective document disclosure by the EC has allowed partial information to circulate for political gain, misleading the public and generating false petitions against the EC. He demanded the commission maintain uniform standards across all cases, properly investigate document leaks, and clarify the status and timelines of the three stalled investigations. He emphasized his criticism stems from a commitment to fairness, not protection of any particular party, and urged the EC to prosecute those responsible for unauthorized disclosure while explaining the composition, procedures, and progress of its investigative subcommittee to the public.
