MP Veerayuth Delivers Aid to Flood-Hit Bang Khla Residents
MP Veerayuth Kanchuchot brought food, relief kits and medicine to flood‑stricken residents of Bang Khla and Khlong Luang Phaeng in Chachoengsao province, where many have been inundated for over a week and nearly half work at Suvarnabhumi Airport but cannot reach their jobs. He warned that the current disaster declaration only covers parts of the district, leaving a gap in aid distribution, and called on the Chachoengsao governor to declare the whole area a disaster zone. Residents said they still await assistance and rely on small boats to move through the high waters.
Veerayuth Kanchuchot said the damage in Bang Khla district is widespread, yet the official disaster declaration only covers certain subdistricts and villages, not the entire district, creating a significant gap in managing resources, directing agencies, and delivering aid. He urged the Chachoengsao governor to quickly declare the whole district a disaster area so that relief operations can be fully mobilized, rather than leaving agencies to act in a disorganized fashion while residents wait for help amid the floodwaters. Afterwards, Veerayuth and his team proceeded to Khlong Luang Phaeng subdistrict in Mueang Chachoengsao, which adjoins Bangkok's Lad Krabang district, delivering essential items to residents of three housing estates encompassing over 1,000 households. Throughout the route, floodwaters remained high, forcing locals to use small boats for travel and transporting belongings. Residents reported that many families had been living with floodwater for more than a week, with aid still not reaching them, and that a number of them are Suvarnabhumi Airport employees who cannot leave their villages to go to work. Veerayuth stressed that the government must take responsibility by declaring the disaster zone, delivering aid to isolated communities, and coordinating drainage systems between areas, instead of leaving residents to fend for themselves or expecting each community to solve the water problem without state direction.
