Natural Resources Minister Inspects Forest and Water Project in Phetchaburi

Natural Resources and Environment Minister Suchart Chomklin led a delegation to Phetchaburi Province on September 10, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. to monitor progress on the royal initiative project 'Hubbkhaopang-Huay Sai Tai,' aimed at accelerating forest restoration and water system development for maximum public benefit. The meeting, presided over by Air Chief Marshal Sathit Sukwimol, the King's Private Secretary, brought together relevant officials from government and private sectors at Naresuan Camp's Rangsi Brahmanikul conference room.

Deputy Permanent Secretary Raveewan reported on two major projects. The Forestry Department, working with PTT Public Company Limited, has completed 100 percent of the Huay Sai Tai reservoir area development project, planting 1,650 trees of 12 native species across 22 rai and currently installing a water distribution system for tree maintenance. The Department of Groundwater Resources has drilled six groundwater wells and is laying water pipes; once completed, the system will supply 1.57 million cubic meters of water annually, addressing water shortages for consumption, agriculture, and eco-tourism.

After the meeting, the delegation toured the Huay Sai Tai reservoir and the Ling Chiang Huay Yai dam construction site to assess water and forest restoration progress. Minister Suchart directed agencies to accelerate pipeline and dam construction on schedule to store water for the dry season and provide timely relief to local farmers. He emphasized the ministry's commitment to fully implementing the royal directive through integrated inter-agency coordination, restoring forest resources, developing sustainable water systems, and transforming the area into a model ecological tourist destination that generates income and improves quality of life for communities.
