Community Development Department Launches OTOP Trader 2026 Trade Event
Thailand's Community Development Department launched OTOP Trader 2026, a five-day trade event connecting local producers with buyers and business partners to expand markets for Thai community products both domestically and internationally.
Bangkok, September 7, 2026 – The Community Development Department under the Ministry of Interior has launched OTOP Trader 2026 under the concept "Building Value, Linking Trade, Expanding Markets Globally." The event creates a platform for OTOP producers, entrepreneurs, and traders to meet consumers, business networks, and potential partners, while showcasing and selling premium OTOP products from across Thailand. The event runs from September 7-11, 2026, at the Multipurpose Hall, Level 2, Ratpraesan Phakdi Building B, Royal Thai Government Centre, Chaengwattana Road, Bangkok.
The opening ceremony and second activity of the OTOP Trader capability development project took place on Monday, September 7, 2026, with Pairojn Soraphon, Deputy Director-General of the Community Development Department, presiding, and Ritthaya Rodnim, a community development specialist, providing remarks before the official opening, photography, and site tour.
Pairojn Soraphon stated that this event serves as an important mechanism to enhance the capabilities of OTOP producers and entrepreneurs while strengthening the role of OTOP Traders in efficiently connecting community identity products with market demands. The event also increases sales channels, builds business networks, and opens opportunities for Thai products to develop into new markets both domestically and internationally on a sustainable basis.
"The Community Development Department aims to promote OTOP products with quality, stories, and market potential. By connecting producers, entrepreneurs, and OTOP Traders with buyers and business networks, we can help local wisdom generate real income for communities and serve as an important force in driving the grassroots economy," Pairojn said.
During the five-day event, visitors can browse and purchase premium OTOP products from across Thailand while enjoying activities for both consumers and businesses, including business networking and negotiations, live-streaming product sales, creative craft workshops, music performances and mini-concerts by renowned artists, gift voucher giveaways and prize draws, and special shopping benefits through the "Thais Help Thais Plus 60/40" program.
OTOP Trader 2026 serves not only as a sales venue but also as a platform for creating business opportunities and exchanging experiences, helping entrepreneurs learn market trends, develop products that meet buyer needs, and build collaborations for long-term commercial growth.
