Judge Scans 30 Finalists for Thailand Regional Beauty Crown

Thanya Thanayares Engtraku, a judge for the Miss Thailand Regional 2025 pageant, has opened up about her role in selecting finalists for this legendary competition. She has personally screened candidates for many years, emphasizing the pageant's distinctive identity in preserving Thai elegance and conservative values.

When asked if this is her main focus, Thanya confirmed: "Yes, it is. I've been a judge since 2561 and I've been doing this for many years now. It's a pageant from our hometown, so I participate as a judge every year and personally select the finalists." She joked that fellow judge Pek has never judged to avoid controversy, leaving the responsibility to her and Pookie Sineenart Engtraku.

This year's contestants stand out for their beauty and exceptional abilities, with backgrounds ranging from doctors to flight attendants. However, the pageant remains known for eliminating even strong favorites, as it is a platform where anyone can be voted out.

Thanya emphasized that the 76-year-old pageant is truly legendary and deeply rooted in Thai values. "If you observe this pageant, it maintains the essence of true beauty and doesn't chase modern trends. My father himself wanted to preserve Thai identity, which is why I'm wearing traditional Thai silk today."

Finalists are selected based on deportment, appearance, abilities, answers to questions, intelligence, and education. The prize money is substantial and can help winners advance to larger competitions. The final round will be held on September 21, 2025, at ESC Park Hotel in Rangsit under the theme "Charm of Lanna."
