Worker Crushed Under Dump Truck While Inspecting Undercarriage

At 10:30 a.m. on September 8, 2025, Muang Lampang police radio center received a report of a dump truck accident in which a person was run over and killed. The incident occurred on a service road near Ban Mai Pattana, Moo 13, Phichai subdistrict, Muang Lampang district, Lampang province. Police investigators, medical staff from Lampang Hospital, and rescue volunteers responded to the scene.

At the location, a 22-wheel dump truck loaded with soil was found parked with the body of Prakaarn (surname withheld), approximately 52 years old, beneath it. He died from crush injuries, with his head and neck crushed. Blood was pooled on the ground.

Initial questioning revealed that the victim was a truck driver working with several other workers to haul soil for a road construction project. Before the incident, the group had stopped to eat and chat, during which they discussed a problem with the truck's undercarriage. The victim then got up and walked away from the group without anyone knowing where he was going. A truck driver, approximately 35 years old, later walked to the truck, started the engine, and began moving the vehicle. Bystanders saw the victim underneath and shouted to stop, but by then the truck's right rear wheel had already run over him, killing him instantly.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the exact circumstances and cause of the accident for further legal proceedings.
