Road Surveyor Killed When Cement Truck Backs Over Him
A cement truck backed over a 29-year-old road surveyor while he was inspecting a lane-expansion project in Manjachakiri district, Khon Kaen province, killing him instantly despite a coworker's warning shout.
On September 17, 2026, Manjachakiri district police and the Manjachakiri Foundation Memorial investigated a fatal accident in which a cement truck backed over a road surveyor on the Ban Thum-Manjachakiri road near Ban Kham Pom in Pho Phek subdistrict, Manjachakiri district, Khon Kaen province. The area was undergoing expansion from two to four lanes.
Police found a cement truck parked at the roadside with the victim, a 29-year-old male road surveyor from Khon Kaen, beneath it. His body bore severe crushing injuries to his torso and head.
Investigators determined that the surveyor was inspecting the road expansion layout while the truck was undergoing surface work when the cement truck backed up without noticing him. Although a coworker shouted a warning, the driver could not stop in time, and the truck crushed the 29-year-old surveyor to death.
