Police Hunt Killer in Convenience Store Worker's Dormitory Death

Police are mobilizing investigation teams to solve the death of a 24-year-old convenience store worker found dead fighting for her life in a dormitory room. Authorities are treating the case as a possible homicide, and gold items have been located at a pawn shop. The family is in shock and requesting her spirit help catch the killer.

On September 17, 2025, at Udon Thani City Police Station, Deputy Commander Pattanawong Chanthaphon convened investigation teams from Provincial Police Region 4, Udon Thani Provincial Police, and the city station's special task force to track progress and accelerate the investigation into the death of Pim, a 24-year-old convenience store worker at the dormitory in Udon Thani Province.

Deputy Commander Pattanawong revealed that officers are working around the clock to extract evidence from CCTV and interview witnesses at the scene. All evidence will be compiled for investigation, particularly DNA test results and CCTV images, to quickly identify the perpetrator and pursue arrest and prosecution. Police have called in five of six dormitory residents for statements and DNA samples, with room 6 pending further investigation.

Investigators are also urgently reviewing CCTV footage around the dormitory—front, back, and corner areas near walls that may have been used as entry or exit routes to avoid detection. They are also examining individuals who entered or left the dormitory around the time of death. Regarding the victim's gold items, initially reported missing, police checked local gold shops and found that the victim had pawned the gold herself before the incident and had not yet redeemed it, causing investigators to rule out theft as a motive.

"Police are focusing on the homicide angle while gathering all evidence, including forensic DNA results and CCTV footage, to establish links between persons of interest. In particular, investigators are examining information about two men spotted driving around the dormitory three times, though officers must verify these details against evidence before confirming any connection to the case. Investigators are gradually calling in relevant persons for additional statements to speed up solving the case."

Meanwhile, relatives have contacted police to arrange transportation of the body for merit-making at the birthplace in Sangkhom District, Nong Khai Province. The body will be sent for autopsy at Srinakharinwirot Hospital, Khon Kaen Province tomorrow. The relatives expressed shock and revealed plans to perform a spirit-calling ceremony at the dormitory after receiving the body. They described the victim as genuine, believing that if someone caused her death out of spite, her aggrieved spirit will help police track down the killer. The victim's father stated that during March she had wanted to visit his hometown in Lampang Province, visiting Tad Toke Khluang waterfall and her grandparents. That would be the last time she visited them and returned to her father's birthplace. He appealed for police to catch the killer and pursue maximum punishment.
