Police, Airwoman Save Electrocuted Teen During Bangkok Floods
A police sergeant and air force officer performed CPR and used an AED to revive a 15-year-old boy electrocuted in floodwaters during heavy rain in Bangkok's Don Mueang district, rushing him to hospital where he survived.
At 10:25 a.m. on September 26, a 15-year-old boy was electrocuted in a house on Soi Wat Weluwan 9 (Ketu Wornchai Lane) in Don Mueang district after heavy rain caused the home to flood, rendering him unconscious. Police Sergeant Wanchaloem Phonpattana, commander of a Crowd Control Unit, and Royal Thai Air Force Squadron Leader Hathaichanok Onchay from the Royal Thai Air Force Office of Internal Inspection happened to pass the scene and immediately provided assistance. The two responders alternated performing CPR and applied an automated external defibrillator (AED) seven times before loading the boy onto a pickup truck and driving through heavy rain and deep floodwaters to Taksin Mahidol Hospital, where he was safely delivered to medical staff.
