Four Escaped Crocodiles Hunted After Saraburī Floods

Environment Minister Suchat Chomklin announced on September 25 that Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul issued orders from abroad in the afternoon to urgently track and contain four escaped crocodiles to protect the public in Saraburi province.

Initial reports indicate four crocodiles, each approximately 2 meters long, were spotted near Golden Place Nava Farm in Moo 6, Khao Chachrao subdistrict, Khao Chachrao district, Saraburi province. The area is currently experiencing severe flooding, forcing some residents to climb trees for safety. Officials are closely monitoring and guarding the area.

Following the prime minister's order, Suchat tasked Arthapol Charienchangsa, director-general of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, with mobilizing experienced staff and expert teams to immediately pursue, control, and capture all four crocodiles while prioritizing public safety.

Arthapol stated that the department has deployed experienced officers specialized in controlling dangerous animals to work with local agencies in tracking the crocodiles. They have prepared appropriate equipment and tools for capture operations, with staff exercising extreme caution to prevent harm to the public and personnel.

Operation teams are currently monitoring the crocodiles' movements and behavior while positioning guards in high-risk areas. Authorities are urging the public not to enter the water, approach the crocodiles, or attempt to capture or chase them, as flooding has made visibility poor and access difficult.

Suchat assured residents that the ministry is deploying all available resources and will closely monitor the situation until all four crocodiles are safely contained. He emphasized that the prime minister places high priority on public safety and that the department will accelerate operations to ensure the security and peace of mind of local residents.
