On August 1, 2026, Pol. Col. Wanchai Wongwanitchanont, commander of Don Mueang Police Station, ordered officers to arrest 21-year-old Tahr, wanted on a court arrest warrant for theft. Police seized a black and gray Honda Wave 110i motorcycle, rider jacket, three ECU units, two screwdrivers, and two T-wrenches from an apartment building on Soi Petchkasem 77, Nong Khang Plu, Nong Khae district, Bangkok.
The investigation began after multiple residents reported ECU thefts from parked motorcycles, particularly near BTS stations. Officers discovered the suspect was disguised as a food delivery rider, parking in areas with many motorcycles and posing as if he were resting before committing the thefts. CCTV footage clearly captured his movements.
Tahr admitted to stealing ECU units and selling them for 400-600 baht per unit to known contacts. Further investigation revealed he had committed theft across multiple police jurisdictions: Don Mueang Station (10 times), Thung Song Hoi (1), Tha Phra (2), Nong Khae (9), Chai Phruek, Pak Kret, and Pra Tu Nam Chula in surrounding provinces (30 additional incidents). Financial tracking found he had accumulated hundreds of thousands of baht, believed to be proceeds from selling the stolen ECU units. Police are continuing the investigation and pursuing related individuals for legal action.
