Police investigation units revealed on September 4 that despite rumors of a government minister being behind a local exam fraud ring, there is insufficient evidence to support such claims. Officers said they had heard allegations during the interrogation of Praweeth (Nayok Heng), former Samrong Subdistrict Administrative Organization leader and former Sisaket District 8 parliamentary candidate for Pheu Thai, who was arrested in connection with extorting money from candidates applying for local government positions. However, after fact-checking, no supporting evidence or corroborating documents were found. Police characterized the minister allegations as mere hearsay lacking credibility or weight. Regarding claims that Praweeth was arrested due to political persecution rather than actual involvement in the fraud scheme, police maintained that all investigative procedures followed legal protocols and were based solely on evidence and witness testimony, with no hidden political agenda.
