On September 4, 2026, Sittra Bia-bangkoet, known as lawyer Tam, submitted a formal request to Chaiwat Chuenkosum, deputy permanent secretary of the Interior Ministry, seeking an investigation into the Gun Jompluang Help Fight Foundation's management of donations, procurement, and expenditures. Tam appeared in a blood-red suit and false mustache, asking to be called Tam Jompluang, and joked that he has no money to hire bodyguards and wants transfers into his bank account instead.
Tam stated he is pursuing the investigation after receiving public concerns and requests to help examine the foundation. He noted the foundation has relocated to Samut Prakan province, requiring the ministry to coordinate with provincial authorities for inspection. He wants to verify how much money entered and left the foundation's accounts and what the expenses were used for.
Tam claimed to have received information from people close to Gun Jompluang suggesting the foundation used intermediary companies to purchase items for donation without transparency, potentially skimming profits. He also stated Gun's luxury home, reportedly worth 250 million baht, is actually in an exclusive residential area that he estimates costs between 100 and 250 million baht when accounting for lavish interior decoration, and he wants this examined.
Tam said he plans to file a money-laundering complaint with the Department of Special Investigation next week. He emphasized his actions are independent and denied coordinating with activist academics or others, though he acknowledged they may have shared experiences with Gun Jompluang. He also addressed a WhatsApp group of twelve people allegedly formed to establish a political party, saying any denial by the group leader about government backing would not be entirely credible.
Tam confirmed his movement is not to help politician Noey Kachaiyen, noting they had past conflicts but Noey is older and has apologized. However, he criticized Gun for being groomed by Noey yet denying it and attributing everything to another figure. Tam also dismissed speculation that Gun called him to protect politicians, saying the call came while he was auditing bills related to an online gambling network investigation.
