Police Find Nearly 1 Billion Baht in Foundation Accounts
Police are investigating nearly 1 billion baht flowing through the Boom Panadda Foundation’s accounts since 2019, with potential fraud and money laundering charges expected next week.
Central Investigation Bureau police found nearly 1 billion baht circulating in accounts of the Boom Panadda Foundation. They are now rushing to gather evidence and witnesses, expecting to decide next week who will be summoned or arrested. The first arrest warrant could be for a woman or a man. Police confirmed that regardless of whether a donation was 1,000 baht or just 5 or 10 baht, using it for the wrong purpose constitutes fraud, and moving or laundering that money constitutes money laundering — all offenses will be prosecuted. The idea that only one person would take the fall is impossible because police have accepted the case in full.
On November 2, 2026, Pol. Maj. Gen. Natthasak Chaowanasai, commander of the Central Investigation Bureau, revealed progress in the case after Ms. Bunyanuch Saengsi (known as Oy Sri), owner of the Oy Sri and Phong Phuek page and managing director of Oy Sri and Phong Phuek Legal Advisory Co., Ltd., filed a complaint and submitted evidence regarding the Boom Panadda Foundation run by Boom Panadda, also known as Dr. Panadda Wongphudee, along with matters involving close associates and her husband. Police have been gathering evidence and investigating all dimensions thoroughly.
The Central Investigation Bureau is investigating every aspect — personal matters, donations received, and whether the foundation's operations comply with legal procedures and conditions.
Regarding the money circulating in various accounts since 2019, investigators found very high figures, hundreds of millions of baht, nearing 1 billion baht, particularly from famous donors and celebrities. Investigators must examine in detail whether funds were misused, which would constitute public fraud, violations of the Computer Crime Act, or if money was moved, transferred, or converted, which would constitute money laundering.
On tracing financial trails and assets converted, transferred, or passed to others, officials are gathering evidence to determine offenses based on facts and evidence. They affirmed they will ensure justice for all parties — both complainants and the foundation — but everything must proceed strictly according to evidence and law.
Reporters asked about speculation that only one person would be held responsible. Pol. Maj. Gen. Natthasak replied that the case has been accepted in full; whoever committed offenses will be prosecuted.
He disclosed that even 5 baht, if used for the wrong purpose, falls under the offense of fraud.
Regarding observations that someone donated 1,000 baht but the alleged damage runs into hundreds of millions, Pol. Maj. Gen. Natthasak stated that if donated money — whether starting at 5 baht, 10 baht, 1,000 baht, or larger amounts — is used for the wrong purpose or misappropriated, it constitutes fraud.
