Police Raid Illegal Dice Game, Arrest 17 Gamblers
Police raided an illegal dice gambling operation in Nonthaburi on July 23, arresting 17 gamblers and seizing equipment and 7,600 baht in cash.
At 4 p.m. on July 23, 2026, Pol. Col. Supchai Srisak, superintendent of Nonthaburi Provincial Police Operations, and Pol. Col. Pruet Chamrusamart, superintendent of Ratanathip Police Station, led investigation officers to raid an illegal hi-lo dice gambling den in an alley off Nonthaburi bypass road in Tambon Bang Krasop, Muang District. Officers found male and female gamblers actively playing hi-lo and arrested a total of 17 people—13 men and four women. Police seized three sets of dice, shaker cups, betting sheets, gambling equipment, and 7,600 baht in cash.
One gambler stated that the group had traveled from Thonburi and Chon Buri, inviting only close associates to play. They claimed this was their first day playing, having been at it for just two hours before police arrived. Investigation revealed that a 65-year-old woman served as the dealer and a 56-year-old man as the house operator. All suspects and evidence were handed over to Ratanathip Police Station for legal proceedings.
In a noteworthy detail, officers from Ratanathip Police Station conducted the raid while preparing to participate in a police football championship finals match at Nonthaburi Stadium against Pak Kret Police Station at 6:30 p.m. Ratanathip had previously won this football competition.
