Police Raid Reveals Gold, Cash, and Buddha Amulets
Police raided a Pathum Thani residence on September 10, recovering over 9.6 million baht in cash and gold items from a 47-year-old woman wanted for corruption and money laundering charges.
On September 10, 2026, Lieutenant Rueangwit Duangjinda from the Investigation Unit led a raid on a house in Moo 1, Khlong Si, Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani, belonging to Punyavee, alias Siga-ae, age 47. She is wanted under arrest warrant Case No. 30/2569 from September 8, 2026, on charges of corruption and misconduct as follows: aiding a public official in embezzling state property through dishonest means, aiding a public official in improperly performing or failing to perform duties causing harm to others, and conspiracy to commit and committing money laundering in concert with others.
The search recovered 35 gold Buddha amulets, 90 baht of gold bullion and ornaments valued at 6,037,470 baht, 3,592,300 baht in cash, three mobile phones, one iPad, documents and ten account records, two land title deeds, seven account books, one land purchase agreement, 18 investment documents, one health insurance policy, six gold certificates, seven gold purchase-sale receipts, and four savings bonds. A second residence in the same area was also searched but yielded no items requiring seizure.
