Resort Owner Files Complaint Over Unpaid Rent and Stolen Air Units

Kanchanaburi — Resort owner Piphath Chemlaisukhsan and associate Rapi Chamnairoeu went to Muang Kanchanaburi Police Station on September 18, 2569 to give a statement to Deputy Inspector Thanwat Nakhapin regarding a complaint filed on August 27, 2569. Piphath stated he owns a property in Kaeng Sian Subdistrict, Muang District, Kanchanaburi, which was rented by a woman identified as Ms. Wi, beginning October 1, 2566.

Under the initial one-year lease agreement, the annual rent was set at 300,000 baht. Piphath received 250,000 baht, leaving 50,000 baht unpaid. When the lease was renewed on October 1, 2567 for another year at the same annual rate of 300,000 baht (to be paid monthly at 25,000 baht), Piphath received only 50,000 baht in total.

No additional payments were made. When the lease ended on October 1, 2568, the tenant requested another one-year extension through October 1, 2569 at 300,000 baht annually and paid only 25,000 baht in February 2569. Around mid-July 2569, Piphath discovered the tenant had moved out without notification.

Upon inspection, Piphath found significant damage and losses: four air conditioning compressors were missing, a bed set and bedding were damaged, a sofa bore scratch marks from pets, and an indoor air unit had disappeared. All items belonged to the landlord; the tenant had only usage rights. Piphath believes the tenant intentionally misappropriated the property and has filed a formal complaint against Viraphon Watsirisopon, asking for criminal charges. Rapi added that the resort operator has suffered approximately 500,000 baht in damages from unpaid rent and property loss, with construction debris and deterioration throughout the building. The complaint was filed on August 27, 2569. Coordination through Pasavir Rueangphoo, Kanchanaburi Governor, has been arranged with police leadership.
