Phoenix Team Leader Wins Award for Border Mission Lessons
Phoenix Team leader Natthakorn Rueantib won first runner-up in a military essay competition for his work on drone warfare tactics developed during Thai-Cambodian border operations.
Natthakorn Rueantib, head of the Phoenix Team, received an award from Supreme Commander Ukritsadee Buntananond in an essay competition called "Lessons from Thai-Cambodian Combat Operations" on September 18, 2025, at Thai Armed Forces Headquarters. His essay titled "Drone Warfare: Phoenix Operations Unit" won the first runner-up prize, showcasing practical lessons and knowledge gained from the Phoenix Team's real-world operations. The competition aims to collect and share lessons learned from Thai-Cambodian border operations, converting field experience into institutional knowledge for military units and relevant agencies, while contributing to the development of operational capabilities and approaches for future missions. Military commanders congratulated the recipients on their contributions.
