A court in Uthai Thani province has denied bail for a 65-year-old deputy subdistrict administrator accused of sexually abusing an autistic girl over many years, leading to her pregnancy. Lan Sak Police investigator Danunsorn Senchu brought the suspect before Uthai Thani Provincial Court on September 18 for charges of indecent assault on a minor under 15 years old. The suspect's relatives submitted a bail request with 300,000 baht collateral, but the court rejected it, keeping the suspect in custody pending legal proceedings. Reporters visited the victim's home and found hospital staff, local administrators, community leaders, and police officers providing ongoing support and safety checks. The victim's grandmother said the family feels relieved after filing for witness protection, with police conducting regular patrols. She noted concern about safety because both families live near each other, but police presence has eased those worries. The victim is now staying with her mother in Bangkok under close family care, as relatives fear she could face threats or further harm if she returns home. The family is requesting that authorities pursue the case to its fullest extent under law.
