Russian Motorcyclist Dies After Crashing into Tree in Pattaya
A 37‑year‑old Russian man died after his Yamaha XSR900 big bike lost control, hit the central median on Sukhumvit Road in Pattaya and struck a tree with such force that the rider was thrown over 100 metres. Police and rescue volunteers found him unconscious and without a pulse; despite CPR, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The motorcycle was flung more than 100 metres to the opposite side of the road, and authorities are investigating the cause.
The incident occurred at 01:20 on 15 October 2025. Police Lieutenant Kachen Phuthatangnga of the Pattaya City Police Station received a report of a motorcycle losing control and striking the central median on Sukhumvit Road before the Thep Prasit intersection, inbound toward Chon Buri, in Nong Prue subdistrict, Bang Lamung district. Officers and volunteers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation rushed to the scene. They found a foreign male lying face‑down in blood, unconscious and pulseless. Rescuers attempted cardiopulmonary resuscitation, but the victim succumbed to his injuries. Preliminary identification showed he was a 37‑year‑old Russian national. Officers covered his body with a white cloth. Nearby lay the damaged Yamaha XSR900, blue in colour, registered in Chon Buri, heavily wrecked and flung over 100 metres to the opposite side of the road. Volunteer Chorathee Boonchan said they had been alerted by police to investigate the accident. Police said that while on routine patrol they were flagged down by passers‑by who reported a motorcycle had veered into the median. Officers then coordinated with relevant agencies for assistance. Police have secured the scene, gathered evidence, and will continue to investigate the cause of the crash in accordance with legal procedures.
