Samsung Offers Free Repairs, Discounts for Flood-Affected Customers
Samsung is offering free repairs, parts discounts, and warranty extensions through October 31 to help Bangkok-area residents recover from recent flooding, with assistance available at 13 service centers across the city.
Thai Samsung Electronics is rolling out a "Special Care Five-Point" assistance program from September 29 to October 31, 2024, to help customers affected by flooding in Bangkok and surrounding provinces recover their damaged electronics and appliances.
The program covers both mobile phones and household appliances. For smartphones, Samsung will waive labor and inspection fees up to 800 baht maximum. For electrical appliances, the company will provide free labor, inspection, and technician travel costs valued up to 1,400 baht, plus spare parts discounts of up to 30 percent for appliances and 10 percent for phones.
Seyoun Kim, President of Thai Samsung Electronics, said the company wants to ease the financial burden on flood-affected customers by deploying its service network and teams to inspect and restore products to working order with confidence.
Additional benefits include warranty extensions for products that expired between September 25-30, 2024, now extended through October 31 with no registration required. Repair warranties are also extended from 90 to 120 days for customers who file claims through SmartThings or Samsung Members between September 26 and October 31. Special discounts are available for customers purchasing replacement devices through samsung.com by October 31.
Customers can inquire about terms and conditions through LINE at samsungservice 24/7 or Samsung Contact Center at 1282 (9 AM-6 PM daily).
Samsung is also partnering with the Ministry of Defence and Bangkok Metropolitan Administration to donate 36 electrical appliances—including microwaves, washing machines, washer-dryer combos, and dryers—to three temporary shelter centers accommodating approximately 800 people. These facilities include centers at King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Ramintra, and Minburi. Samsung teams are also distributing food, drinking water, and essential supplies to affected residents.
The program operates through 13 Samsung service centers across Bangkok, including locations at Dusit Central Park, Mega Bangna, Future Park Rangsit, Central Ladprao, Central Pinklao, Central Rama 9, Central Westgate, CentralWorld, Fashion Island, The Mall Bangkapi, Secon Srinakarin, Minburi, and Rattanathibet. Some centers may be temporarily affected by flooding; customers can check service status at bit.ly/4e23n5h before visiting.
