Elderly Man Drowns in Flooded Home During Flash Floods

A 69-year-old man living alone in Ban Tak drowned when flash floodwaters swept into his home. The elderly resident, who had difficulty walking, could not escape in time. His relatives discovered him face-down in the flooded house. On September 29, Deputy Sub-Lieutenant Rewat Eamtak, Investigation Officer of Ban Tak Police Station in Tak Province, received a report of a man found drowned in a residential building in Moo 1, Tambon Koh Tapha, Ban Tak District, Tak Province. He reported the matter to Police Captain Suphakorn Piphatthapimp, Commander of Ban Tak Police Station, and coordinated with Ban Tak Hospital before heading to the scene with rescue units.
When authorities arrived, they found the 69-year-old homeowner floating face-down in the flooded house. The initial autopsy revealed no signs of trauma or assault. There were no signs of struggle in the surrounding area. When questioned, relatives stated that the deceased was elderly with limited mobility and lived alone in the house. It is believed that a large volume of floodwater entered the residence, causing him to fall and drown. The family did not question the cause of death and requested the body for religious funeral rites.
