Lisa Dazzles MTV VMAs With Thai Icon Performance

Thai-born artist Lisa took the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards 2026 on September 27 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles with a powerful performance of her latest single SaWaDiKa, proudly showcasing Thai cultural elements. She opened the show with an electrifying atmosphere before integrating Muay Thai movements into her performance and creating a sensation by featuring a life-size tuk-tuk as a major stage prop, delivering an intense performance throughout the song.

Beyond her on-stage spectacle, Lisa achieved another milestone of the evening by winning the Best Pop award for Dream, a collaboration with Japanese performer Kentaro Sagakuchi. Upon hearing her name called as the winner, Lisa was visibly overcome with emotion before taking the stage to accept. She thanked MTV, Kentaro, Ali, and Feli for their contributions to creating the song, reflected on the long-held dreams that brought her to this moment, and gave special recognition to her fanbase Lilies.

In her acceptance speech, Lisa said in part: "Hello, Sawasdee to everyone. First, thank you MTV for this incredible award. The Best Pop award marks Lisa's fourth individual MTV Video Music Awards win. She previously won Best K-Pop for Lalisa in 2022, Rockstar in 2024, and Born Again, a collaboration with Doja Cat and Raye, in 2025. This year Lisa received four nominations across Best Pop, Best K-Pop, Best Cinematography, and Best Editing before taking home the Best Pop award.
