SCAP Expands Locked Phone Financing With Xiaomi Partnership
Srisawat Capital is expanding its locked-phone financing business through partnerships with manufacturers like Xiaomi, aiming to become the market leader within two years with automated credit approval systems.
Srisawat Capital 1969 (SCAP) is pushing ahead with expansion of its locked-phone mobile financing business, establishing it as a new growth curve for the organization while investing in automated, paperless credit approval systems. The company is partnering with major phone manufacturers including Xiaomi and targeting market leadership within two years.
On July 21, 2026, Duangjai Glassbutta, acting chief executive of SCAP, revealed that in the second half of this year the company will aggressively expand its locked-phone mobile installment business, viewing it as a key strategy for creating new revenue streams and diversifying credit portfolio risk. This complements the company's existing expertise in credit management and risk control.
The company is deepening partnerships with multiple phone manufacturers including Xiaomi and investing in automated, paperless credit approval systems that allow dealers and distributors nationwide to approve loans quickly, reduce operational steps, cut document and personnel costs, and support credit growth without expanding credit staff.
Glassbutta noted that Thailand's mobile phone market, which sells over 17 million units annually, will see rising financing demand as manufacturing costs and retail prices continue climbing, pushing consumers toward credit services. Early results from the locked-phone financing business show sustained smartphone demand, as phones have become essential for daily life and work.
"We aim to become the market leader in locked-phone mobile financing within two years, building on our success as the leader in motorcycle installment financing," Glassbutta said. "Automated approval systems will speed service delivery, reduce operating costs, and strengthen risk management through smart systems to support long-term profit growth."
Glassbutta added that the company continues operating under sound governance and responsible lending aligned with sustainable business practices under ESG principles. She expressed confidence that expanding partner networks, launching automated approval systems in July, and employing advanced risk-management technology will drive steady growth in the company's retail credit business and generate long-term returns according to the group's strategy.
