Police revealed that two rival gunmen on a motorcycle ambushed and shot a 25-year-old former mechanical engineering student from a prestigious institute, killing him beside an apartment wall in Khlong Kluea subdistrict, Pak Kret district, Nonthaburi province.
At 10:00 a.m. on July 21, 2026, Nonthaburi provincial police, regional investigative units, provincial forensic officials, and medical examiners from the Institute of Forensic Medicine arrived at the scene to collect evidence and descriptions of the gunmen responsible for the fatal shooting.
Autopsy results indicated the victim sustained approximately five gunshot wounds: one to the right ribcage and two to the left ribcage. Three 9mm bullet casings were found near the scene.
A motorcycle taxi driver who witnessed the incident reported seeing the gunmen shoot the victim, causing his vehicle to overturn, after which the assailants descended and fired additional rounds before fleeing on their motorcycle. He did not see the gunmen's faces but observed their vehicle.
A 67-year-old witness who observed the gunmen conducting surveillance stated that around 6:15 a.m., he saw the gunmen's motorcycle block his vehicle. Both assailants wore motorcycle helmets covered with orange jackets. He found their behavior suspicious and suspected they were conducting surveillance. Preliminary police investigation is pursuing the gunmen's escape route, with initial focus on institutional rivalry, given that a rival institute's founding ceremony is scheduled for August.
