Son Questions Official Account of Businessman's Death in Thailand

BANGKOK — 10 September 2026 — The son of British-Nigerian businessman and influencer Igho Ubiribo has disputed earlier reports about the cause of his father's death in Thailand, claiming that there are still unanswered questions surrounding the case.

A Nigerian news website reported on 10 September that Junior Ubiribo had challenged the account that his father died after undergoing a filler injection procedure to enlarge his penis in Thailand.

Igho reportedly died after the procedure, with earlier reports linking his death to a pulmonary embolism, a blood clot that blocks blood flow to the lungs.

Junior, however, claimed that his father was killed in March, saying he did not agree with reports that his father had died as a result of undergoing the procedure.

He further alleged that his father had suffered severe injuries, including the loss of one eye and a deep wound to his forehead. Junior questioned how the injuries occurred and whether they were connected to the procedure his father underwent in Thailand.

Junior also raised concerns about his father's assets, alleging that some property and belongings went missing after his death, including a gun and watches. He alleged that his father's wife took the missing items.

The son said his father did not deserve what happened to him and called for a thorough investigation to establish the facts surrounding his death rather than accepting the explanation previously reported.

However, Junior's claims remain allegations and have not been independently verified. There is currently no independent evidence confirming that Igho was murdered, nor has information emerged independently verifying the alleged injuries or missing property.

It therefore remains unclear whether Igho's death was connected to a homicide, as alleged by his son.

Further clarification and information from relevant authorities and other people involved will be needed before the circumstances surrounding Igho's death can be established.

Meanwhile, officials from the Department of Health Service Support, together with the Food and Drug Administration, inspected the clinic where Igho received the filler injection on 7 September 2026.

According to the clinic's management, Igho had been a regular patient since 2024 and had undergone five penile enlargement injection procedures. The first four procedures took place between 2024 and 2025.

For the fifth procedure, on 5 March 2026, Igho received 40 cubic centimeters of filler injected into his penis. The doctor had advised him to divide the filler injection into two sessions, but he reportedly requested that the procedure be completed in a single session.

The clinic said that after every procedure, staff provided instructions on post-treatment care and followed up with the patient regarding his condition. According to the clinic, Igho did not report any problems related to the procedures.

The clinic also said that he signed a treatment consent form before each procedure.
