A 34-year-old teacher named Mr. A was shot in the head and killed inside his bedroom in Muang district, Khon Kaen province, at approximately 1:30 a.m. on July 27, 2569. The suspect is Ms. Song, 33, his ex-girlfriend, who fled by car to Nong Bua Lamphu province before her father helped her surrender to police at Muang Nong Bua Lamphu station. She initially denied responsibility, claiming they had struggled over the gun before it discharged and struck the victim fatally.
On the afternoon of July 27 at Ban Pet police station in Khon Kaen, the victim's parents and family arrived from Kamphaeng Phet province to meet with investigators, coordinate the case, and arrange to take their son's body home for religious ceremonies. When they encountered people present at the scene, the parents broke down emotionally, embracing each other and crying as relatives and officers comforted them.
The victim's mother, Mrs. A, recalled that her son had aspired to be a teacher and had recently passed his certification exam. She said their last conversation before his death was brief, with him mentioning he needed rest before morning activities. Regarding his relationship with the suspect, her son had described it as a friendship. The woman had previously loaned him a car, and after he purchased a home, they lived separately but remained in contact. Her son had told her he was not interested in a serious relationship and wanted to remain single for the time being. The family had only recently met the woman during a merit-making ceremony for the house in March.
The victim's uncle expressed that his nephew was hardworking and dutiful, always helping and caring for his parents. He and the family immediately traveled to Khon Kaen upon hearing the news. The uncle was deeply grieved, saying the victim's parents cried from the moment they left home until arriving in Khon Kaen. He described the suspect's actions as savage and brutal, questioning why she would kill his nephew without asking or talking things through. He called for the case to be pursued to its fullest extent, describing the victim as a pillar of the family who had always taken good care of his parents.
