Popular Box Bar in Bangkok Shuts Down After 9 Years
Box Bar Mahadit, a beloved teenage hangout in Bangkok's Ladprao area, has permanently closed after nine years, leaving customers shocked by the sudden announcement just days after hosting a concert.
Box Bar Mahadit, a well-known chill hangout for teenagers in the Ladprao-Ramkhamhaeng area on Mahadit Soi, has announced permanent closure after nine years of operation. The official Facebook page posted the announcement on the evening of July 26, thanking customers for their loyalty and shared memories: "The shop is permanently closed. Thank you to all our customers who have been with us for 9 years. BOX = Home. Thank you to all our beloved customers. Thank you for loving our shop so much. Thank you for building this legend together."
Following the post, many customers expressed their sadness and gratitude for the memories created at the venue, noting that many had met romantic partners or friends there. However, some customers have questioned the sudden closure, noting that just two days earlier on July 24, the bar hosted a concert featuring artists Som Maree and Bell Wrisara, and on July 25 it was still advertising normal promotions before the abrupt announcement of closure at 6:44 p.m. on July 26.
