Bar Shut Down for 5 Years Over Unlicensed Operations
A bar in Samut Prakan Province has been shut down for five years after authorities found it operating without licenses and illegally selling alcohol from a market location in Muang District.
A bar operating as "90's Bar & Restaurant" inside Thong Chai Charoen Samut market on Thep Khunakon Road in Muang District, Samut Prakan Province, has been ordered closed for five years following a raid by the Department of Local Administration's special enforcement unit. The inspection, launched after complaints were filed, found the business was operating without proper authorization and illegally selling alcoholic beverages, among other violations.
On September 15, 2025, Samut Prakan Province moved to regulate the establishment after discovering these breaches. Provincial authorities used their administrative powers to issue a five-year closure order, aimed at ensuring legal compliance and social order while preventing similar violations. The investigation also identified a village headman with connections to the bar, and he has been removed from his position.
The action is part of a broader Interior Ministry policy to regulate businesses and ensure they operate lawfully. Samut Prakan Province has reaffirmed its commitment to ongoing inspections and strict enforcement of the law against violating establishments.
