Cyber police arrested a 23-year-old Myanmar man in Tak Province running the illegal TH2.VIP gambling website, which had over 30,000 members and generated roughly 360 million baht annually through sports betting, lottery, and casino games.
On August 5, 2025, police commanders authorized a raid on a residential house in Moo 3, Ta Sai Luad Subdistrict, Mae Sot District, Tak Province, with a warrant from Mae Sot Provincial Court. Officers arrested Ui Gu Mi, a 23-year-old Myanmar national, along with one computer, two notebooks, two mobile phones, and one router.
Investigators discovered that the TH2.VIP website had over 30,000 members and had been operating for more than two years with average monthly turnover of approximately 30 million baht, or about 360 million baht annually. The site illegally offered online gambling services including foreign football betting, lottery, slots, baccarat, tiger-dragon, hi-lo, and other games.
Police traced the gambling operation to a hideout in the Mae Sot area and obtained a search warrant. During interrogation, Ui Gu Mi admitted to renting the house to serve as website administrator, handling customer inquiries and coordinating operations such as fund transfers and withdrawals for over five months. He received a monthly salary of 15,000 baht.
Police charged him with advertising and promoting illegal online gambling and operating unauthorized gambling services.
