The board of Thai Airways International has removed Chief Executive Officer Chai Eamsiri from his post, effective immediately, and appointed board director Samrit Samieng as acting CEO. The decision was made at a board meeting chaired by Finance Ministry permanent secretary Lavaron Sangsnit on Thursday, 2 October. Samrit, a former executive vice-president for finance and accounting at PTT Exploration and Production, will replace Chai on an interim basis. Thai Airways opened applications for a new CEO on 30 September.
