Traffic Police Rescue Flooded Vehicles, Return to Owners
Traffic police in Bangkok’s Udomsuk area used a tow truck to recover an electric sedan that had been submerged in floodwaters for over a week. Officers waded through water more than 1.3 meters deep to attach the tow hook and pull the vehicle safely onto the road before returning it to its owner. The public can request similar assistance around the clock via police hotlines.
On October 2, 2026, Assistant Police Commissioner Nitithorn Jintakanon, head of the Traffic Police Image Enhancement Working Group at the Traffic Police Center, commended the Udomsuk Traffic Police (Bureau 4) for their rescue operation after flooding left an electric sedan almost completely submerged at the Pakhak Canal U-turn point since September 25, 2026. Officers waded into water exceeding 1.3 meters, used the station’s tow truck to hook the vehicle’s undercarriage, and safely pulled it onto the road. They then contacted the owner, who retrieved the car. Nitithorn urged the public to call the national police hotline 191 or 1599, the traffic police hotline 1197, or the highway police hotline 1193 for 24‑hour assistance.
