Thailand's only current world boxing champion Petchmorakot Chumsinchhai will defend his IBF lightweight title against Filipino challenger Mark Winceslaus on September 26 in Japan after completing training camp in Saraburi.

Petchmorakot recently gave a special interview at Mono Studio in Nonthaburi to update on his readiness ahead of the crucial fight. He revealed that he has completed his training camp at the Steel Helmet National Sports Training Center in Saraburi, where he sparred with Thai national amateur boxers and top fighters from the Saengtiannoi camp to prepare physically and tactically. He will now travel to Japan for final conditioning and one or two full 12-round sparring sessions before the actual fight, focusing on maintaining sharpness, speed, and timing.
Petchmorakot acknowledged that challenger Mark Winceslaus is no pushover, particularly with his strong left-hand style and excellent defensive technique. However, he and his team have carefully studied the opponent's boxing style and prepared a solid counter-strategy. "I admit there is some pressure as Thailand's only remaining world champion, but I have confidence in my experience and peak fitness," Petchmorakot said. "If there is an opportunity in the ring, I am confident I can win by knockout. My only goal is victory and bringing this world championship belt back for the Thai people."
