Thai Equestrian Team Finishes Eighth at Asian Games 2026
Thailand's equestrian dressage team finished eighth at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan, with one rider disqualified after a veterinary inspection failed their horse, adding pressure to Princess Sirivannavari and her teammates.
Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana led Thailand's equestrian dressage team at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan. The team consisted of Chaloem Yasviriyapanich, Chanchanok Clara Ruckcare, and Neer Buddhisombat competing in the dressage final on September 25 at JRA Equestrian Park.
Chaloem Yasviriyapanich and his horse Sant Jordi 3 competed first for Thailand but was disqualified after the horse failed a post-competition veterinary inspection. Princess Sirivannavari rode her horse Boulevard and scored 60.265 points. Chanchanok scored 66.00 points and Neer scored 68.50 points. Thailand's combined total of 194.765 points placed them eighth overall, behind gold-medal China with 208.148 points, silver-medal South Korea with 205.265 points, and bronze-medal Japan with 204.117 points.
After the competition, Princess Sirivannavari reflected on the challenges, noting that she attempted to stay focused and relaxed before competing, but the disqualification of the first rider added pressure to the team. Technical issues and the sensitive bell system created additional challenges, causing minor mistakes during her performance. She expressed gratitude to the association for supporting the athletes and thanked all the team members.
