Thai golf has fielded Propiano Aphichanya Yubol, winner of two gold medals at the 19th Asian Games, to lead the team defending its title at the 20th Asian Games. Officials say the squad faces formidable competition from host Japan, South Korea, and China. Thailand's golf team will compete from September 30 to October 3, 2025, at Kasugai Country Club (East Course) in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, with backing from the Thai Sports Authority and the National Sports Development Fund.
The women's team will be led by Propiano Aphichanya Yubol, who won two gold medals in women's singles and women's team at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. The squad also includes Proplay Patchrajuta Kongkraphan, a gold medalist in team competition at Hangzhou, and Sim 300 Nathkrit Wongsueelap. The men's team comprises three amateur golfers: Propetch Somdej Gaewkanchana, Prorumi Phumi Saksansansilp, and Fifa Pongsapak Laephakdi, with coaches Preechar Senaphrom and Pom Petcher Sarputhee.
According to the Thai Golf Association, Japan poses the greatest threat with many skilled athletes and home-course advantage, while South Korea and China are also formidable contenders. However, the association expressed confidence that Thai golfers are competitive at Asia's highest level and capable of winning more gold medals. At the last Asian Games, Thailand earned two gold medals from women's categories and one silver from the men's team. This time, organizers hope for at least one gold medal.
