Thai Red Cross Foundation Donates 500,000 Baht to Nepal Flood Victims
The Thai Red Cross Foundation donated 500,000 baht to Nepal on September 11 to aid victims of devastating flash floods and landslides that struck the Tibet-Nepal border region in August.
The Volunteer Foundation for Emergency Relief of the Thai Red Cross Society presented financial assistance to Nepali citizens affected by severe flash floods and landslides. On September 11, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. at the Embassy of Nepal in Thailand, the foundation—established under the patronage of Princess Patcharakitiyabha and Princess Somsavali—presented 500,000 baht to Dhan Bahadur Oli, Nepal's Ambassador to Thailand, to support disaster victims. The funds will assist people in Nepal affected by sudden flash floods along the Tibet-Nepal border in the Bhote Koshi and Lhende River valleys, which connect Rasuwa District in Nepal to Shigatse in Tibet, following the incident on August 26, 2025. The Volunteer Foundation for Emergency Relief extends humanitarian assistance beyond Thailand's borders whenever allied nations face critical situations. The foundation has previously provided aid for major floods in Laos, Myanmar, Indonesia, and Japan, distributing emergency funds and relief supplies to affected populations. The foundation operates under the principle that friends do not abandon each other in times of hardship.
