On September 9, Pinijet Jarussombat, chairman of the Thai-China Cultural Council and Relationship Promotion, led a delegation including Patma Leesuwasdithakon, conductor of the Phil Harmonic Orchestra of Thailand, along with senior officials from Mahidol University and more than 100 Thai musicians and artists on their departure to Beijing for the Beijing International Great Wall Concert 2026, taking place September 11-12, 2026.
The historic performance represents a significant milestone in strengthening relations between Thailand and China through the power of music and cultural exchange. The Phil Harmonic Orchestra of Thailand is prepared to make an impressive impact and promote Thai soft power at the Great Wall, one of the world's seven wonders.
During an evening reception, Quan Mu, former Chinese Ambassador to Thailand, warmly welcomed the delegation and hosted a dinner, reflecting the long-standing friendship and deep bonds between the Thai and Chinese peoples.
