Thailand Eyes Hudson's Performance At 2026 Asean Cup
Thailand will use the September 2026 Asean Cup in Indonesia to evaluate English coach Anthony Hudson's tactical approach and readiness ahead of next year's Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Chanyawit Polchaivit, deputy president of the Football Association of Thailand, described the 2026 FIFA Asean Cup as a performance assessment tournament for Anthony Hudson, Thailand's English head coach. The Thai national team will participate in Indonesia from September 29 to October 5, with matches against Pakistan on September 29 at 4 p.m., Vietnam on September 29 at 7:30 p.m., and the Philippines on October 2 at 4 p.m. The group winners advance to the final while runners-up compete for third place.
Hudson has announced his 23-player roster and expressed satisfaction with the squad's quality, emphasizing these players will give their best effort in the tournament. He views the competition as crucial preparation for the 2027 Asian Cup, scheduled for early next year in Saudi Arabia.
