Thailand Launches Direct Warsaw-Bangkok Flight to Boost Tourism
Thailand's Tourism Authority has launched a direct Warsaw-Bangkok flight with LOT Polish Airlines to attract more high-spending Polish tourists. The service began October 7, 2026, offering three weekly flights that will increase to five per week, aiming for 250,000 visitors annually. The initiative includes familiarization trips to spread tourism revenue across Thai destinations.
The direct flight LO65 departs Warsaw at 15:45 local time on October 7 and arrives at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 07:05 on October 8, with a flight time of about 10 hours 20 minutes. It is operated by a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner carrying 252 seats. From October 7‑25 the service runs three times a week, increasing to five weekly flights from October 26 throughout the winter season. The route reduces travel steps, strengthens Bangkok as a hub for ASEAN connections, and lets Thai travelers reach over 100 European destinations via LOT's network. In 2025 Poland sent 237,570 tourists to Thailand, up 31.46%; the January‑September 2026 figure was 164,807, up 12%, and the full‑year forecast is around 250,000. Popular spots for Polish visitors include Bangkok, Chonburi, Phuket, Krabi, Samui and other beach attractions. Between October 8‑11, TAT's Prague office hosted a familiarization trip for six Polish tour operators, 18 journalists and six LOT executives, covering a Bangkok‑Rayong‑Bangkok itinerary to develop travel programs and stimulate demand. TAT will continue cooperating with airlines, travel companies and Central European partners through marketing, promotions and quality experiences to grow the high‑spending, long‑stay tourist base and spread tourism revenue nationwide.
