The Department of Internal Trade met with building material, vehicle repair, and laundry equipment businesses to discuss flood relief measures. Participating firms cover three main groups: construction materials and home repair (HomePro, DoHome, Thai Watsadu, Mega Home, Global House); electrical appliances and cleaning equipment (CP Axxtra, HomePro, Mega Home, Global House, Power Buy, Power Mall, Central, Robinson, DoHome, Thai Watsadu, Big C); and vehicle service centers and car brands (FIT Auto, Cockpit, Tyre Plus, B-Quik, Autoclik, Autobacs, MMS, plus Toyota, Ford, Isuzu, Mitsubishi, Nissan). They also agreed to run promotions such as discounts on essential goods, free or discounted inspection and repair services, trade-in programs, installment plans, and special vehicle check-ups. The department will also invite wholesale and retail outlets to set up sales points for essential goods under the "Thai Helps Thai, Flag Sky Reduces Cost of Living" project and calls for private sector donations of necessities for flood victims. The Department will monitor demand and coordinate further with businesses to ensure sufficient supply and service, and urges the public to check prices and conditions before purchasing, reporting unfair trade to the hotline 1569.
