Thailand Mobilizes Water Resources for Nan Flood Relief
Thailand's water resources department has mobilized nearly 50 staff, multiple trucks, and pumps to assist flood-affected residents in Nan province's Pua District, with teams already deployed to provide emergency relief and drinking water.
Natural Resources and Environment Minister Suchat Chomklin, concerned for flood-affected residents, instructed the department to provide full emergency assistance and closely monitor the situation for rapid response. Department of Water Resources Director Theerachun Bunsit confirmed deployment of personnel, equipment, and machinery in coordination with local government, disaster prevention agencies, and related organizations for continuous relief and recovery support.
In Nan province, the Regional Water Resources Office 9, serving as forward command center, coordinated with offices 1, 2, and 3 to mobilize nearly 50 staff, 7 water trucks (6,000 liters each), 6 pumps, 2 trucks with cranes, 8 pickup trucks, 1 van, and over 6,000 bottles of drinking water. Teams deployed immediately to Ban Kaet, Ban Don Si Serim, and Ban Rong in Pua District for urgent relief and recovery operations.
The Department of Water Resources continues close situation monitoring and stands ready to deploy all available resources and equipment to assist residents until the flooding subsides.
